The materials used in drawing pencils are mainly divided into the following parts:
Lead:
Graphite: This is the main writing component of the pencil. Graphite is mixed with clay in varying proportions, which determines the pencil's hardness (e.g., HB, 2B, etc.).
Colored pencil lead: Made from pigments, binders, and wax, used for colored drawing.
Wooden casing:
Usually made of high-quality wood, such as cedar wood, due to its soft texture, ease of sharpening, and resistance to deformation.
Some eco-friendly pencils use recycled materials or fast-growing wood.
Other materials:
Paint coating: Used to protect the wood and for aesthetic purposes, usually printed with brand logos or color distinctions.
Metal ring and eraser: Some pencils have a metal ring at the end to secure an eraser.
